Record attendance at the three-yearly International Exhibition of Earth Moving, Site and Building Industry Machinery, with an increase of more than 10% compared to the 2005 edition. More international operators than ever, especially from East Europe and Asia. President Luigi Castelletti: "A result even better than our forecasts and the outcome of focused attention on the most dynamic markets in the world."
 Samoter attracted 100 thousand visitors to set record attendance figures for the three-yearly International Exhibition of Earth Moving, Site and Building Industry Machinery, that closed last Sunday 9th March at VeronaFiere after five days of intense activities. The increase over the 2005 edition was more than 10%, with peak figures (of up to 20%) for international operators, especially from East Europe and Asia.
 The event, which boasts the patronage of CECE (European Committee of Site Machinery Manufacturers' Associations) and the Ministries of Infrastructures, Transport, Employment and Social Security and International welcomed 1026 exhibitors (+3.5% over 2005), of which 30% international from 36 countries, over a net exhibition area of more than 130 thousand square metres (+13.5%). There was also increased attendance by Italian and international journalists, up by 80% to over 600.
 “We achieved attendance even better than forecasts," said Luigi Castelletti, President of VeronaFiere, "thanks to detailed work carried forwards in recent years with international promotion through Samoter Tour, that visited (and will continue to visit) the main countries in Eastern Europe, including Turkey, as well as even closer collaboration with the main trade associations. We are delighted by such attendance, especially on an international scale, and are convinced that the market, on the basis of meetings at Samoter, will see new impulse in the business field.”
 Samoter thereby confirmed its role, among sector experts, as one of the reference shows in the construction sector and the most important European appointment in 2008. The organisational formula was particularly appreciated by operators as regards the trade sector layout and the impressive convention programme: the Samoter Specials, in short, welcomed a series of courses dedicated to individual sectors (earth moving, concrete, road building, drilling, crushing, lifting/hoisting, vehicles and components), while more than 30 thirty theme conventions were organised, with a crossways focus on safety topics.
There was also excellent attendance by visitors and specialists at the Demo Area, the test ground of 20 thousand square metres for "live" action and testing of the latest innovations available on the market.
Next Samoter is scheduled from 2nd to 6th March 2011 in VeronaFiere.
