220 exhibitors presented their newest developments in 4 halls and on the open-air area. The brick-layer show and the competition of the mini excavators provided for suspense and variety at the fair.

Good and compact fair
The great number of guests show that the BAUMAG represents a strong value now for many, said Mr André Biland, managing director of the ZT Fachmessen AG and fair manager about the high visitor frequency. BAUMAG, being the only construction machine fair organized in 2008, was particularly attractive, and it was loudly praised by all the exhibiting companies. They are all the same contented with the course of the fair and the positive signals of the trade visitors. They offered  a representative cross-section of machines, equipments and services on an area of 20,000 sqm.

Seven talents provided high-level work
Many visitors gathered in the hall nr. 1 at the booth of the brick-layer training school from Sursee, where the regional qualifying competition (region 2) of the brick-layers for the professional world championship in Calgary was going on. In three days the seven candidates built supremely exigent brickworks and delivered brilliant performances. The following three candidates have qualified for the preliminary round and have chance to participate in the Swiss championships.

    2. position: Shala Perparim, Aargau ( Karl Vögele AG, Full-Reuenthal)
    3. position: Benjamin Steiner, Bern (Burri Bau AG, Oberwichtrach)

The 14th edition of the Fair for Building and Construction Machinery will take place in Lucerne again between 25th and 28th February 2010. One out of the two new trade halls will stay at the disposal of the exhibitors by then.
