KEY FACTS & FIGURES
SITEVI: trade exhibition dedicated to equipment, products and services for the Vine & Wine and Fruit & Vegetable sectors
SITEVI Exhibition Manager: Valérie Queffelec SITEVI Exhibition Director: Martine Degremont Venue: Montpellier Exhibition Centre Dates: Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 November 2007 Opening hours: 8.30 am – 6 pm Frequency: Biennial – odd-numbered years Founded: 1977
The exhibition dedicated to equipment, technology and services for the Vine & Wine and Fruit & Vegetable will have several key focuses in 2007:
A comprehensive international offer Nearly 20% of SITEVI’s exhibitors are international, presenting a comprehensive offer of equipment, products and services tailored to the needs of all its visitors – grape growers, winemakers, fruit farmers, vegetable growers, distributors or dealers. SITEVI 2007 will present the world’s biggest offering of grape harvesters: all the sector’s leading manufacturers and specialist suppliers have already signed up. The exhibition’s offer for the Fruit & Vegetable sector will be stronger than ever, spanning all the stages from production through to marketing, including packaging and, of course, irrigation.
The Advice and Services Centre: a key benefit for trade visitors The Advice and Services Centre makes its debut at SITEVI 2007, bringing together all the key players who can help visitors build both domestic and export sales. For example, a winemaker could come here to talk with a marketing advisor, find information on emerging markets and attend one of the many workshops being held within this area.
Innovation at the heart of the exhibition Above all SITEVI is a showcase for new technologies and innovations. One visitor in two came to SITEVI 2005 specifically to see exhibitors’ new products, while two visitors in three were planning to make investments in the next two years.* The winners of the Innovation Awards will be announced at the upcoming press conferences – on 11 September in Montpellier and on 13 September in Paris.
SITEVI anticipates the key challenges facing the sector Over the 3 days of the exhibition, SITEVI’s partners will be running a packed programme of talks, tackling both technical and economic subjects – plus, of course, issues relating to marketing and sales. The EUROVITI conference will take place on the mornings of Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 November.

Building networks SITEVI brings together all the professional organisations involved in the Vine & Wine and Fruit & Vegetable sectors. The representatives of the profession contribute at various stages, playing a vital role in the event’s success. The Languedoc-Roussillon region – one of France’s leading regions for the sectors covered by SITEVI – is a partner of the exhibition, with a high-profile presence for its “Sud de France” brand launched in June 2006. Initial international contacts have confirmed that many delegations of buyers from the main nearby producing countries (Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal) and from further afield (Russia, Bulgaria, Croatia, South Africa, etc.), are planning to visit SITEVI. For 3 days they will help to make Montpellier the global capital of the wine, fruit and vegetable sectors. |
