The English JCB company resides in third place in the group of leading construction machine manufacturers after last year, which resulted in the greatest volume growth and market share of all times. In 2007 they manufactured more than 72,000 machines and plan to increase the manufacturing and selling of new machines to 93,000 by 2010. The company is exclusively represented in Hungary by TERRA Hungária Építôgép Kft. We talked about the Hungarian company's results and plans with sales executive Zoltán Papp.  

 

- Please, shortly summarize the history of TERRA Hungária Építôgép Kft. from the beginning to present day.
- Our company opened it's gates in 1992 in Szombathely. It shows our dinamic development, that only three years later we opened our new premises, first in Budapest, than a couple of years later in Szeged, Nyíregyháza and Pécs. Lately we had the chance to cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony in Szigetszentmiklós.
Our continuous growth is well represented in the number of employees, which had been grown from 5 to 70.
Its understandable since we offer a very wide range of products to our partners, with the wide selection of machinery in the fields of construction, road construction, debris recycling, transportation, warehousing and logistics. We supply new and used construction machines as well as material hadling machines or side loading forklifts and all terrain forklifts. It's all backed up with a reliable national service network. We provide professional counseling and if necessary immediate supply spare parts to are costumers. In association with our financial partners, we offer solutions for leasing, loan and long term renting.
TERRA Hungária Építôgép Kft. also offers free tender writing services to the costumers. With their help an average 30-50% governmental subsidy is possible to achieve, depending on area!

- I believe your development history is a great example, you are truly do everything for your costumers, but the stagnancy in the construction industry is obviously felt by your company to…
- Indeed, from 1999 to 2005 the construction machinery market had been experiencing an explosion -like growth. Since then less machines are sold due to the Hungarian economic slowdown, and the setback in the construction industry and the governmental projects. I believe that 2008 will still be the year of stagnancy, but from 2009-2010 we will see a little growth on the construction machine market

- Could you tell me, as a sales executive, which is your favorite model group, if it's not a big secret?
- The tracked excavator family, which includes excavators from 11.5 t to
52 t. This year JCB introduced the JS 290LC, the JS 360LC and their biggest tracked excavator the JS 520LC. This types are made to satisfy already existing user needs. What I mean is that JCB has already got the 26 and 33 t tracked excavators, and with the 29 t we filled in the missing gap in our supply.
The machines are used in the field of mining, excavation and road construction. The use of JCB tracked excavators will result in an efficient and economical production.
