German participation at Con-Build Vietnam 2008
German participation at Con-Build Vietnam 2008 remains the largest European presence for the 2nd
International Trade Fair for Construction and Building – Machinery, Equipment, Materials, Vehicles, Technology
and Services to be held in Hanoi from 9 – 12 September 2008. Following their successful representation in
Con-Build Vietnam 2007, the German Pavilion, consisting of approximately 20 companies and several
promotion stands, totaling 288 sq meters, will once again be showcasing their latest technology, equipment,
and expert services to the main players and elite of the construction industry from the whole of Vietnam and
Indo-China.
The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) is proud to once again be the organizer of the German Pavilion,
supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) as well as the Association of
the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).
VDMA is the largest engineering industry association in Europe. It represents circa 3000; both German and
international member companies – most of which are SMEs – reaching an annual production value of 189.5
billion Euro (+ 13% in comparison to 2007) and employing 914,000 people (+ 5%) (2007). The VDMA
headquarters with a total staff of 400 are located in Frankfurt/Main and has representations in Berlin, Brussels,
Tokyo and Beijing.
The German Pavilion is again looking to further strengthen the bonds of cooperation with Vietnam and will once
more include a sound base of leading companies from the construction industry. Together, they are looking
forward to providing professional operations to key players in Vietnam’s construction industry. Companies part
of the Pavilion such as the Liebherr Group, Wehrhahn GmbH, Hess Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, LASCO
Umformtechnik GmbH, ThyssenKrupp Gft Bautechnik GmbH and many more will provide the latest construction
machinery, construction materials, materials manufacturing equipment (mixing, crushing & filtration technology)
et cetera to the Vietnamese and Indo-Chinese market.
Experience is also a by product that companies such as Liebherr and BHS-Sonthofen hope to bring to Vietnam
and to the region. Liebherr, for example, has provided high quality construction machinery such as tractors,
loaders, piling & drilling rigs and their signature product – cranes of all kinds. One of the best of its kind in the
industry, used and proven for nearly 60 years. BHS-Sonthofen, with over a century of experience, provides the
latest in mixing, crushing and filtration technology, delivering the highest quality construction materials to those
who need tested German standards, a hallmark for quality. Such representation from Germany highlights the expertise of the combined German pavilion, and shows that many international companies still believe in
Vietnam as THE place in South- East Asia to further develop their businesses.
Minh Hoang Co Ltd, who strongly endorsed the successful outcomes of Con-Build Vietnam after their first
participation in 2007 has doubled their exhibition space in the coming 2008 event. As the sole representative
of leading German manufacturers for concrete pumps, concrete batching plants, mortar machines, pipes,
concrete pumps, foundation equipment, pipes and accessories, Minh Hoang will have a prominent participation
in the German Pavilion. In the years Minh Hoang has been responsible for proving a large number of major
German construction machines for national projects in Vietnam.
IMAG, with nearly 60 years of experience in exhibition services, is part of the Munich Trade-fairs group of
companies. It has been appointed by the German Ministry of Economics to coordinate the German delegation
and to provide technical support to the German Pavilion alongside VDMA. The latter will be accompanying the
German delegation and will be providing professional advice through a network of 20,000 decision makers and
400 dedicated personnel.
During Con-Build Vietnam 2008 the German Embassy will be hosting a German Night in Hanoi sponsored by
the German government: to provide networking opportunities to strengthen ties between German exhibitors with
the Vietnamese government officials and industry representative in Vietnam.
